Focusing on the future, we are excited to welcome the Armored School from Ft. Knox, KY along with all of their brave soldiers and families. Columbus  Georgia is a wonderful place to live.

    Ft. Benning is vital to the defense of our Nation, and hosts some of the most important units in the United States Army.  Ft. Benning also trains men and women from other military branches throughout the year.                 

    The Infantry School trains the Soldiers and leaders of tomorrow. The Airborne, Ranger and Pathfinder schools provide skilled soldiers who defend our nation in the  War on Terror.                  
    
    Elite units based at Ft. Benning, such as the 3rd Brigade, 3d Infantry Division (Mechanized) and the 75th Ranger Regiment, are instrumental in the preservation of freedom and the protection of our country.

    Of equal importance is the training program WHINSEC; considered the "Operation Neighborhood Watch" for countries in the western hemisphere. WHINSEC educates and trains western hemisphere soldiers, politicians, civilians and law enforcement in modern advances with great emphasis on the humanitarian aspect. The training and education those students receive enable them to return to their country and provide a shared wealth of knowledge and superior level of protection and peace of mind.
